The installation is partly based on the short film THE ABDUCTION OF EUROPE which is based on "The Metamorphosis" by Ovid. In this old myth it is the God Zeus who is in love with the mortal King s  daughter Europe.To this purpose he becomes a white taurus. He succeeds in abducting her. In this film everything is a little different: The abducter becomes abducted, Europe is close to drowning and the Gods of today are not what they used to be. This motive of mythology has inspired artists in their work. In the history of fine arts it is a subjecton its own. This film is a contribution to this topic.

Die Installation basiert auf dem Film "Die Entführung Europas" und ist frei assoziiert nach den "Metamorphosen"  des Ovid. In dieser alten Geschichte geht es um den Gott Zeus, der sich in die sterbliche Königstochter Europa verliebt. Zu diesem Zweck verwandelt er sich in einen weißen Stier. Es gelingt ihm, sie zu entführen. In diesem Film spielt Jahn mit den Elementen der Mythologie: da wird der Entführer entführt, Europa kann nicht schwimmen und die Gottheit von damals kann es mit der modernen kaum aufnehmen. Dieses mythologische Motiv hat immer wieder Künstler zur Auseinandersetzung angeregt; in der Kunstgeschichte ist es eigener Themenbereich. Dieser Film ist ein Beitrag dazu.
