confu baja video Berlin is a word of art: Gerd Conradt, Monika Funke Stern, Hanno Baethe and Hartmut Jahn created a common address and a base from which to work. They joined forces to overcome the loneliness and isolation that usually afflicts independent video workers. Each of them still has another job, and even in the group, each of them should retain his or her individuality. But they can always combine their different skills and strengths, which have developed from different backgrounds and educational backgrounds, in project-related cooperation. This may make them a model of the future: a producer's gallery - i.e. archive and place of performance of their productions in front of guests, place of production and location of the common pool of equipment. Having their own equipment makes them largely independent of expensive rentals; they can produce within their own four walls, right down to the broadcast-ready final cut. The equipment is better utilized than if only one person used it. All fixed costs go through four. And if one of them receives an order or funds for an idea that needs to be realized, then he can use the partners as employees...But there is one catch to the model that makes it difficult to copy at will: the four partners did not just get together quickly to start the rosy media future. All of them already have a proven track record in videography, of shorter or longer duration, which means that their professionalism can be verified by their works. confubaja video Berlin ist ein Kunstwort: Gerd Conradt, Monika Funke Stern, Hanno Baethe undHartmut Jahn haben sich eine gemeinsame Adresse und einen Stützpunkt zum Arbeiten geschaffen. Sie schlossen sich zusammen, um die Einsamkeit und Vereinzelung zu überwinden, in denen selbständige Videoarbeiter meist stecken. Dabei geht jeder noch einer anderen Arbeit nach, und auch im Zusammenschluss soll jeder seine Individualität bewahren. Doch können sie so ihre verschiedenen Fähigkeiten und Stärken, die sich aus unterschiedlichem Herkommen und Bildungsgängen entwickelten, jederzeit in projektbezogene Zusammenarbeit bündeln. Möglicherweise macht sie das zu einem Modell der Zukunft: Produzentengalerie - also Archiv und Aufführungsort ihrer Produktionen vor Gästen, Produktionsort und Standort des gemeinschaftlichen Gerätepools. Die eigene Ausrüstung macht weitgehend unabhängig von teurer Anmietung, es kann in den eigenen vier Wänden produziert werden, bis auf sendefähigen Endschnitt. Die Anlagen sind besser ausgelastet, als wenn sie nur einer benutzte. Alle fixen Kosten gehen durch vier. Und wenn einer einen Auftrag erhalten hat oder Mittel für eine zu verwirklichende Idee, dann kann er die Partner als Mitarbeiter einsetzen. Doch einen Haken hat das Modell, der es nicht beliebig nachahmen lässt: die vier Partner haben sich nicht eben schnell mal getroffen, um indie rosige Medienzukunft zu starten. Alle haben bereits eine, durch die kürzere oder längere Videographie, ausgewiesene Vergangenheit. Das bedeutet, ihre Professionalität lässt sich an ihren Werken überprüfen.

Da hört man Wunderdinge aus London, von neuen Formen künstlerischer Unterhaltung, zu denen sich Musik, Rezitation, Performance - Bildende Kunst in Aktion, Theater, Film, Elektronik und mystischem Brimboriumin einer hinreißenden Show verbinden. Nun gut, haben wir hier doch auch: Notorische Reflexe! Was diese Gruppe von Einzelkönnern musikalisch, mimisch, materialaktionistisch aus ihrer Phantasie hervorbringt, ist schon toll! Hingehen, ansehen und -hören, begeistert sein (und eine Reise nach London gespart)!
